Our Sennheiser EW-D receivers are pre-configured to specific frequencies. These settings should not be changed unless working with the technical director.
Our Audio-Technica ATW-3100b receivers might be configured to specific frequencies. These should be double checked during tech week of each performance.
Current Frequency Assignments
We have 6 active Audio-Technica ATW-3100b receivers in our main rack:

Unused Receivers
There are two additional ATW-R3100b(C) receivers under the desk/lightboard that are not currently in use:
- Channel 7: 543.025 MHz
- Channel 8: 543.275 MHz
Why aren’t they active? We don’t currently have compatible body pack transmitters for these receivers. If we acquire compatible packs in the future, they’re already set to the correct frequencies.
Why Frequency Matters
- Spacing prevents interference: These frequencies are intentionally spaced apart so the mics don’t interfere with each other
- Body pack compatibility: Only body packs on the same frequency will work with their matching receiver
- Pre-configured = reliable: The frequencies have been chosen to avoid common sources of interference
For Sound Board Operators
When checking receivers before the show:
- Verify each receiver shows the correct frequency listed above
- Check that each receiver is receiving signal from its body pack
- If you see frequency errors or “No Link” warnings, tell the technical director - don’t try to fix it yourself
Advanced Settings (Technical Director Reference Only)
Our receivers have several settings optimized for theater use:
- High Pass Filter: Enabled on all channels to reduce feedback by eliminating low frequencies below what mics typically capture
- Squelch settings: Adjusted to minimize background interference
- Gain structure: Set to work optimally with our mixer input levels
For interested crew members: If you want to learn more about how the wireless system works, ask to see the ATW-R3100b receiver manual. Understanding the system can help with troubleshooting, but these settings should only be adjusted by the technical director.
For New Crew Members
- You don’t need to memorize these frequencies - just know that each mic has a specific receiver it must use
- If a receiver shows “No Link” or the wrong frequency, that’s a technical problem - get help immediately
- The pre-configured frequencies are one of the reasons our setup usually “just works”
